Jodianne Beckford created Noire Girls Plant to foster healing through plants and highlight and connect Black people who have a love for the outdoors.
She's also the creator and host of The E Project podcast, which explores the ‘Epiphany’ moments that lead individuals to do what they love.
Jodianne also works as a commercial lifestyle photographer, specializing in branding, and products. When she’s not behind the camera or leading her communities, she works full-time as a direct support professional with adults on the spectrum that require assistance in daily activities.
Jodianne shares her journey with depression and imposter syndrome, and shares how we can create community to find meaning and beauty in the world when everything seems bleak. This episode is raw, vulnerable and provides a unique look at hope and community.
“When you think of nature, hiking and camping and all these outdoor things, you don’t necessarily, automatically think of us. You don’t think of Black people or POC. I just want to help add to the awareness that we like those things as well.”
